SVC Controller

Mutil-Board Eurocard VME Platform

The multi-board SVC (Static Var Compensator) digital controller is a robust and highly sophisticated system designed and manufactured to adhere to the Euro Card VME standard, ensuring modularity and ease of integration. This advanced controller utilizes a combination of state-of-the-art processors, including the Texas Instruments AM4379 ARM Cortex-A9, Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA, and the TI C2000 F28xxx dual-core signal processor. The system comprises a total of 12 cards along with a specialized backplane, each card tailored for specific functions within the SVC control architecture.

Equipped with multiple analog input channels, the controller allows precise voltage and current sampling, essential for real-time monitoring and control of reactive power. Additionally, the design includes numerous digital inputs to monitor the state of various points within the system, providing comprehensive oversight and diagnostics. The multiple fiber optic command outputs facilitate isolated and noise-free communication, crucial for issuing TCR (Thyristor-Controlled Reactor) commands, enhancing the system’s reliability and responsiveness.

This SVC digital controller is engineered to operate under rigorous industrial conditions, designed to withstand high levels of electrical noise, temperature fluctuations, and other environmental stresses commonly encountered in industrial settings. The robust design and advanced processing capabilities ensure high accuracy, fast response times, and reliable performance in challenging environments. With its scalable architecture, this controller is an ideal solution for complex power system applications, capable of maintaining stability and power quality in electrical grids and industrial power systems.
